Los Angeles, April 2, 2019 – Mission, a managed services provider and Advanced Consulting Partner in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network (APN), today announced its sponsorship and participation at AWS Summit Anaheim. AWS Summit Anaheim – held April 11th at the Anaheim Convention Center – is a free event designed to bring together the cloud computing community to connect, collaborate, and learn about AWS. Mission and CloudCheckr will host an afterparty at the nearby Anaheim rooftop restaurant and bar The Fifth, where AWS representatives, customers, and other attendees are invited to unwind with food and drinks. Mission has earned Partner status for several AWS Competencies, including the AWS Healthcare Competency, AWS Life Sciences Competency, and AWS DevOps Competency, as well as particularly deep domain expertise in game tech, media & entertainment, digital media, SaaS, education, consumer goods, ecommerce, and marketing.
Mission CTO Jonathan LaCour will also be speaking from experience on how to leverage AWS Lambda, Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon API Gateway, and Amazon QuickSight to build an Internet of Things (IoT) application. The truly unique session, “Lessons from the Backyard: A Connected BBQ Grill and Smoker,” details how LaCour leveraged these technologies to enable his grill and smoker to stream data about his cooking to an Amazon S3 data lake (complete with enabling an Amazon Alexa skill, data visualization, social media integration). “I expect this session to leave attendees both better informed on how to utilize different AWS solutions together for IoT applications, and hungry for BBQ ribs,” LaCour said.
Additionally, Mission Platform Manager Lance Allen will lead a session on how Mission built a serverless application using Amazon API Gateway, AWS Lambda, and AWS Secrets Manager.
“We always look forward to the one-day AWS Summits – they continue to provide a great venue to meet with new organizations acutely interested in optimizing their AWS environments,” said Andy Jolls, Chief Marketing Officer, Mission. “We’re excited to meet in person with existing and future customers at AWS Summit Anaheim, and to invite attendees to join us for food and drinks at our own get-together following the conference.”
