AWS Pricing Calculator 2020.2: Updates & Improvements
What's new

Amazon EC2
We've updated the number of instances, on-demand offerings, standard offerings, convertible offerings, and regions. Below is a breakdown of the changes at a high-level:
- Instances increased from -------- 210 to 286
- On-demand increased from ---- 47624 to 64959
- Standard increased from -------- 269490 to 297550
- Convertible increased from ---- 259297 to 264770
- Regions added EU (Milan), Africa (Cape Town), and US West (Los Angeles)
Elastic Load Balancing (ELB)
ELB includes several new features that add useful pricing to the calculator spreadsheet. You can now choose between three types of ELB’s, application load balancers, network load balancers, and classic load balancers. We also now support the EU (Milan) and Africa (Cape Town) regions.
Other Updates
- Amazon Elastic File System (EFS) now supports the AWS GovCloud (US) region.
- Amazon Aurora now supports Africa (Cape Town) and South America (São Paulo) regions.
- Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) now supports US West (Los Angeles), Africa (Cape Town), and Europe (Milan) regions.
- Amazon S3 now supports EU (Milan), Africa (Cape Town), and US West (Los Angeles) regions.
- Amazon Redshift added 2 new instance types.
- Amazon ElastiCache added 3 new instance types and now supports EU (Milan) and Africa (Cape Town) regions.
- Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) added 7 new instance types and no longer supports 32-bit instances. Base SQL Server was removed and All SQL Servers come with licenses by default (BYOL was removed).
- Other AWS Services now support Africa (Cape Town), China (Beijing), China (Ningxia), and Europe (Milan) regions.
- Data Transfer pricing was updated for Ohio (US), Virginia (US), and the Africa (Cape Town) region was added.
